She trained in neurosurgery at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn and the University of Texas, serving as Chief Resident in Neurosurgery at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, and completed a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Colorado / The Children’s Hospital. She earned her M.D. at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio and an M.B.A. at Adelphi University.
